Public interest in the Northern Lights is at an all time high. The dazzling, displays that light up the night sky capture the imagination and instill a sense of excitement for photographers everywhere.
We've invited dedicated aurora chaser and photographer Steve Luther to share his expertise on capturing the Aurora, as well as insights on determining when the Northern Lights may be visible in our area, when we should prepare to chase, and the best resources to use (they're different from what you may have heard).

Steve will provide information specific to the Carolinas, including challenges for this part of the country and how to overcome them. He'll also give a brief overview of space weather including what causes Aurora and the current solar cycle. You’ll absolutely come away with new knowledge, accurate information and confidence to “capture the elusive” Aurora Borealis here at home or across the planet!
